The use of synthetic paper reduces the need for pulp paper which has one of the most energy intensive and environmentally unfriendly production process.Comparatively, making of synthetic paper is a much cleaner, less energy demanding process, thus generating much smaller carbon foot print.Additionally, depending on the applications synthetic paper often retain its plastic properties such as better mechanical properties and directionalities, better barrier properties (e.g., moisture, oil, oxygen), and broader optical effects to fit end-use requirements.
